1.Staying in Touch
I couldn't live without the lake. I need to look at it whenever possible and hear the waves lapping on the shore and be in it whenever I can.  I love being on or in the water so canoeing, kayaking, waterskiing, rowing, or just floating in a boat always make me feel very peaceful except for maybe water skiing; that just makes me out of breath and very stiff the next day.

2. A Woman's Best Friend
I have always loved dogs and animals but didn't know a lot about them until I got a dog from the shelter. I didn't know enough about training which resulted in an accident. After that I started to become interested and wanted to teach other people. We use our C.O.P.E. dogs primarily for helping people with mobility disabilities but are starting to use them for people with mental disabilities. We've  had inquiries for people with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

3. Run, Jane, Run
My daily ritual is to run in the woods with the dog. I couldn't start my day without it. I get my nature fix, get exercise and the dogs love it. I love the silence. The only thing that could make it better is if my [daughters] came with me.

4. Inspiration
One of the people who has been a true mentor to me is George Cohon, the founder and Senior Chairman of McDonald's Canada and Russia. He's all about seizing opportunities and perseverance. He is a true entrepreneur. He had a golden retriever with too much energy that we trained and ended up placing with a child with disabilities. Cohon is now an official patron of C.O.P.E. dogs.

5. National (Family) Pastime
I've curled in three World Championships as part of the German team. I was living in Germany and didn't know that curling wasn't huge everywhere. I was looking for a team and they said they thought they played it up in the Netherlands. It was understood in the Boake family that you would curl. Being able to experience a World Championship was great.

6. Brain Food
I love all kinds of music. I like the older stuff like Bruce Springsteen, Radiohead and old Genesis/Peter Gabriel. I also like Stars and Coldplay. And I've grown to like Mozart after playing it for my kids when they were young. It's good for the brain.

7. An Evening Out
I don't cook. I wish I did but you can't fit it all in. One restaurant I really love is Bistro Seven Seven in Alliston. They have local dishes and ingredients and there are always different things to try. It's right next door to the train tracks in an old house. There are lots of interesting rooms and a nice stone patio.

8. Taking the Express
There have been so many good movies lately it is hard to nail down a favourite. A long-time favourite is Midnight Express that I watched when I was young and appreciated it even more when I watched it recently. One of the things I love to do is watch movies with my kids and I really liked Up. And I liked Starbuck, a movie that originally played at the Toronto International Film Festival.

9. Getting Connected
I recently got an iPhone and a Mac. I'm going to use them for my essential organization. I'll sync their calendars so I can keep everything in one place.

10. A Dark ‘n' Stormy Cocktail
I had a Black ‘n' Stormy when I was in Bermuda that is Bermuda black rum and ginger beer. When I celebrate that's what I have.
